DTC One Year Ago

Exactly one year ago, we were high-fiving each other at the Fed-Ex office, elated that we had made the 5:30 cut off for mailing out our dossier. How carefree that day seemed, how sure of ourselves we were that a child would soon be headed our direction...

What a difference a year makes.
365 days have passed, and our expectations have changed. Our outlooks have changed. Our patience level has changed. The one thing that hasn't changed is our desire to be parents. In 34 minutes, the clock will strike midnight here, and we'll embark upon another year of waiting. One down, two to go...

Two more years???

Wow, I did not realize it would take that long.

Hugs to you and you have much patience.

Wow, I can't even remember my DTC date, it's been so long! I only keep track of LID. We're coming up on our two-year (Feb. 28).

You're one year closer to being parents- good for you. I still believe that the CCAA has a specific timeframe (24 months IMHO) that they will hold at- I guess we'll see about that soon enough. Hang in there- your daughter will be so worth the long wait.

One year ago Oct 11 we began our adoption journey by attending an informational meeting at our adoption agency. A year later there's a one year old in Guatemala waiting for us to get him, but miles of red tape and shutdown threats keeping us apart.

Thinking of you,
Lisa from the BT board
